so here`s the deal:
i know what i am putting myself into...and please no advises on how hard that might be and all that...i just made my mind and i know my life is gonna SUCK for 5 years if i am successful enough to get enrolled...i might be risking my life and such...

and please no trivia stuff about FFL- i`ve talked and read all the sources i could find....(it`s for the people who never get to the point)

the question- one of the basic phisical requrements are to be able to run 5 miles in less than an hour with 45 pounds on your shoulders...so i can do it...BUT I AM A VEGAN(in my case that`s the only way i can put up with my stupid health troubles(flatulance, fatugue due to gluten, dairy, yeast and other intolerances...)) so it means i take supplements...so i could feel myself pretty good...IS IT ENOUGH REASON FOR THEM TO CAST ME OFF AT THE MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS? i know if i am "in"- there`s no me no more: from then on they possess my soul and decide what`s good for me or not..

I think any Legionnaire would find your questions extremely comical.

In the Légion étrangère, it is very old-school.
Very hard-core.

You will be treated as valueless and your special needs will be utterly ignored.

March or die.

The FFL is sorely under-funded and is very small with only about 8000 men. They can be very selective. They wash out about 90% of new recruits (they don't know it, but they're actually the lucky ones.) Of the 10% left, many will attempt to desert. .

But they won't let you in anyway if you have medical issues. So all your questions are academic.

Dream on Sonny,

Looking at your health trouble issue you WILL NOT get past the medical for the F.F.L.

On the ground, in the jungle, or desert you will have no access to supplements, and they wont make allowances.

You will also never get past the survival school training where Python, Jungle Rat and other flesh wearing animals have to be caught and killed, then cooked.

I have a friend who served in the Legion, he is Cajun. You have to speak some French in order to enlist, or you risk getting screwed on your contract, you have to be able to eat and survive on the rations issued to you, and you have to be in very good physical condition going in or you won't survive to reach the excellent physical condition you have to achieve to graduate.
