I think you went overboard with the "even remembered."
However, I believe there is a possibility of you being correct on the exist part.
Anyone who has ever paid even slight attention to history knows that Empires fall when their Government becomes corrupt and their citizens complacent.
All the great empires of the past have fallen. Ours will fall too if we do not learn from their mistakes.
Our nation is following in the same footsteps.
We are allowing a specific group of people to disregard our laws.
We are allowing a specific group to influence and change the most vital ingredient to our unity, (our common language).
Our Government is corrupt and willing to cater to special interest groups (even ones with an agenda which is against the interest of our national sovereignty) to influence their decisions at the expense of their citizens.
There are more I am sure, but this is long enough to read and my point I believe is made except for my final reason for why you are right about the end of our great nation.
The citizens are letting it all happen.
EDIT: DAR, normally I very rarely disagree with what you say and even when I do disagree, I keep it to myself.
Your answers are often the best on here. Unlike me you refrain from letting your emotions talk and you give thoughtful answers.
In this case I have to strongly disagree with you statment.
I want my children and their future children to grow up in the United States of America. I do ot believe that this is some possibility of the far future, I see it as something that is happening now.
We should care because no matter how sorry and corrupt our Government is, the idea of America is the best one out there and it IS being destroyed.
I hope you are having an off moment, you give great answers that I won't coment on even when I disagree because of the obvious thought to them.

We realize that in the far future, this is quite likely. In fact, the future will likely try to discover the past, like it always does, thus it will try to reconstruct an image of our civilization, form artifacts. Of course, it won't be accurate, just like our versions of past events aren't. The thing of it is, we are here and alive now, and most of us really don't give a hoot if the future knows us or not. There are enough time capsules strewn about that one should be recovered, and we shall be remembered!

That is a pretty irrelevant statement because this is the greatest nation ever known. There are 20 trillion billion stars and we are a gnat on a buffaloes rear. Does anybody really care what the buffalo thinks.

I thought of the movie "Planet of The Apes". Anyway,I feel we will get bombed in the 3rd World Nuclear War,by then it won`t be just us getting killed off-one goes off,the rest of the countries will go crazy and blast off their weapons. Something is bound to happen-for now,just enjoy life and and do the best we can trying to straighten out the messes we are in. Global warming is another problem-how do you fix the big hole in the ozone? It`s too late-maybe E.T.`s will save us. War and more war,famine ,pestilence,etc.-Bible style. Immigrate to a fresh new planet-nice dream......
