theres not really a common line here, some atheists beleive in forms of reincarnation.
Buddhists and hindu's for example beleive the universe is layerd, and by living a good life you can move up one step, each new layer (up) being better than the top) until you reach the top: nirvana or absolute bliss. in this new layer youll havea new life, perform acts and learn. (time passes at different rates in different layers)
others might beleive in a returning to the earth/nature. some might believe nothing happens.
the only main religious thing atheists have in common is that they dont believe in a god.

I do. I am Atheist where deity is concerned.
I believe we are forms of energy. Energy is always changing and reshaping itself but never dies or goes away. I believe our spirit is the essence of that energy and when we die, we choose to either remain on the other side or choose to reincarnate. I believe that the spirits and ghosts you see is that energy of the deceased.
I am also an animist. I believe everything has a "spirit" energy. From animals, to trees and plants and even minerals. Animism is commonly found in Shamanism. beliefs.

I do, and I will tell you why. When the atoms that make up my body break down in some black hole that swallows our known universe, then there will be another "big bang" and lives and planets and stars, and supernovas will arise from the same matter that makes up my body now, well at least a little tiny part of it.

For buddhists they feel they are recycled until they reach Nirvana. Like a state of mind. Where everyone becomes one in eternal peace. Not like Heaven and Hell, or life or nothing. Just a happy medium :)

Some atheists do and some atheists don't. There really is no body of atheist theology or dogma.

Well not in the historical 'afterlife' religions preach. I think that every death gives life to millions of creatures that feast on your corpse.

I think that one day, though science, we'll be able to bring a dead person back to life... so the real question is, what does "after death" mean?

Most don't, but some do. Just not necessarily the way believers think of it.

Some do and some don't. But if there is no God, there is no eternal hope for the future.
