Everyday there are fights in my family. Whether it be my mom and dad or me vs my mom or me vs my dad. I find that for the last month i have cried every single night. We fight and we fight to finally i get to the point where i just want to hurt my mom ( inever do) but she makes me so angry and i make her angry. Also she is a big smoker and drinker and this annoys me and she yells at me when i insist that shes had to much. Is this all normal?

Honestly - it doesn't sound normal. For the most part - homes should be happy.

I know you're still pretty young, but recognize what you don't like about your parents and how they are raising you. If alcohol is a factor, joining al-anon might be extremely helpful.

The best thing for you to do is to engage in some self-inspection. Ask yourself - why do you do what you do? Why does your mother? Why does your father? Why do you fight all the time? Finding these answers might be painful, but should help you grow as a person.

But - more importantly - finding these answers will help you decide how you want to live and what you want to get out of every day.

Life is precious. You shouldn't waste a day.

No it is not "normal" if there is such a thing as "normal".

You definately need someone to talk to. Have you tried calling the Kids Help Phone? They are terrific and they can help you out - even just give you someone to talk to during the rough times. Their number in Canada is 1-800-688-6868. I'm not sure where you are but if you are not in Canada try the webiste link below.

Good luck kiddo - you deserve to learn how to resolve issues without so much anger. take care.

It's probably not depression. What you have is an unlivable family situation. You need a mature adult to talk with about your family who can give you advise and just listen to you. Your family is not normal but what you are feeling is normal for your circumstances. Please talk with a councelor at school.
