society can be likened to a dog in need of a bath . anything that suggest the outcome is feared . Are we entitled to be the root cause of the problems of the world .is this is our religious beliefs or is it really more complicated and religion just adds to the confusion as another obstacle in disguise . ?

Society will always shun and question what they don't understand and accept unconditionally that which comes easiest. A few hundred years ago free thinking women were killed for being free thinking. It is no different now. Less brutal and far more subtle perhaps, but the outcome is generally the same.

If you are addicted to a specific belief system, and others with beliefs that aren't yours seem to be doing well and not in the throes of suffering at the hands of your god, they pose a threat to your identity and beliefs.

There are a lot of negative stereotypes people believe about athiests. I think people are more inclined to believe steroetypes rather than to sit down and get to know an athiest as a person.
