He isn't a short hair. I Got him from a lady around my neighborhood that said they found him and his brother. the vet said he was pretty healthy. Hes about a foot and 1/4th . his coat is long and shiney. VERY ACTIVE AND FRISKY. He gets lonely.

odds are if you didn't buy it from a breeder, it is probably a domestic short hair.

Did you get him from a breeder or does he have papers? Or is he obviously a particular breed - like a Persian or a Siamese? If not then odds are he's what's referred to as a "Non-Pedigreed Domestic Shorthair" which most cats are. Post a picture and we can at least tell you what he might be a mix of.

There aren't many purebred cats roaming the streets, they are still fairly uncommon and expensive, most people wouldn't spend a few hundred or thousand dollars on a cat and let it loose. Odds are it's a Domestic (short, medium, or long haired). They come in all hair types and colors, and are simply the common, mixed-blood cats that are everywhere. I highly doubt your cat is actually a purebred. If you post a picture online we could offer more help.

Without pedigree papers you can't prove anything one way or another--so it's just speculation if you can't talk to the breeder.

If he's from the neighborhood, he's likely a standard domestic short hair or domestic long hair, not any particular breed.
