If there was a way to change the past then the deserving thought you have could be right. But presently, we have no way to change the past, so it must be assumed that the past is what it is and hence it was meant to be and hence we deserved it or God, us, would not have permitted it to happen. Everything happens because God made it that way, else there are two Gods and who made the second one?

Why did god give this gift to some people who clearly do not deserve this gift? I mean, He should know, right?
We deserve exactly what we get? So, people deserve to have a baby, Kill the baby and the baby deserves to be killed? I do not believe for one minute that we all get exactly what we deserve.

I will say I am,my mother could not carrie a baby full term
and she ask God for just 1 and here I am.....she lost 6 babies before me.
