A few hours ago I was at the check-out counter of "Atwoods".

The clerk reached over and unscrewed my nuts and weighed them on a bathroom scale.

Why was I there?

I needed to attach a construction plate to a cement wall I am building. I went to Atwoods (farm and garden store) and bought some "all thread bolt stock".

The question is: By logic and reasoning, do you believe my story?

edit: it looked like a bathroom scale. It was probably as mentioned a digital and more sensitive scale.

The explanation was provided by "Gem". I am pretty sure we all agree she an expert on the subject.

**Of course, I got a warm and fuzzy feeling from reading the other answers from my friends. -- thanks

By logic and reason your story is plausible.

Nuts/fasteners are sold in one of two ways, 1-by the piece, or 2-by the pound. So weighing the nuts is very plausible. The clerk unscrewed them from the threaded rod (all thread bolt stock) that you had in your hands/cart.

Logically, there could be a hardware store named Atwoods, and they could have a bathroom scale upon which they weigh nuts (if the nuts were heavy enough - a digital scale would probably work better). I don't know what "all thread bolt stock" is, but that has nothing to do with logic or reasoning...so I would say "yes".

Those who don't know you cannot apply logic and reasoning to ascertain you are telling the truth. Nor can those who do, unless one (Hi Carolyn!) went with you to "Atwood's". I can say that I know you and I've rarely seen you make up stories like this out of nowhere - I know too that you are building a wall and thus my logical response would be to believe that your story is true. (How IS that wall going?). All thread bolt stock could certainly be a necessity for building a wall. The nails would be necessary to attach the plate. Logic tells me there is no reason for you to lie about his so I decide to believe you but in no way can prove you're telling me the truth.

Wait... she unscrewed your NUTS?! Are you... yeesh, Wayne, Auntie's gonna be pissed! Those things are hard to screw back in again. Still, it'll all be worth it for you in the end, won't it? Woo hoo! You're gonna have some fun this evening!

By reasoning, I must first decide wheather this is a hypothetical event ,or an admission of a valid event that you have personally and recently, experienced. However I am unable to know for sure by reasoning and logic alone. I may ascertain the plausibility of your claim by investigation,in the inquiring of my son,who is a store manager at a local Ace Hardware, concerning your story. If the answer is positive for similar historical events in the kingdom of hardware purchases..I would then still need to discern wheather or not the believable story actually occurred, with YOU, or if it was taken from a story in Hardware Today magazine. Determining a positive plausibility of the event does not insure that it actually occured. The simply answer to your question is NO...

"Faith" dictates however, that your story is valid,as you are my brother in Jesus Christ and would not lie. Faith is the only means that anyone (Christian brother, friend or enemy) could accept the validity of your story....

Yeah, because you could actually be buying some bolts and perhaps the nuts have to be weighed or something. Not much of a hardware store person.

My question is, why would you need...or rather, how would you use nuts when you are using bolts in concrete?

***lol had left here and had to come back because I had thought about the scale too late....they sell nuts by the box or singly at a set price, lol...so why weigh them anyway?

Peace be with you :)

No. A bathroom scale is not fine enough to get an accurate reading for a monetary exchange.

Unless there was a recording in video or tape, there is no reason to disbelieve your story, but I have absolutely no reason to understand it has any truth.
Stating that fact and not knowing you personally I cannot describe you as a liar or a storyteller.
Hence I think it is just a querie from someone who is just as bored as I.
Have a good night.

All I have is your word. Not knowing you, I could not ascertain if you are a truthful person. Then again, why would you lie about something so.... Un meaningful? I would give you the benefit of the doubt. After all. It wouldn't matter to me if you were lying or not.

I can say your story makes no sense but it doesn't mean you are lying.

If you all you bought was all-thread, then was she grabbing your 'man nuts'? If so why would she weigh them - and why on a bathroom scale?
