I thought his penalty was losing his qualifying time and going to the rear of the pack.

Had the infraction been found BEFORE quailifing then to the rear of the feild would be the probable penilty.
But the fact it was found AFTER the quailifing run then to the rear of the field and NASCAR will anounce Tuesday if there is any fines..If fined then look for both loss of owners points and a heafty fine 25,000 or more.I'd also say there could be a suspention out of this as well.

If the car just settled he will be sent to the rear of the field after corrections are made. If something was done like lowering the roof in relation to the fenders, it will be confiscated and he will go to the rear with a backup, 100 points big fines and a suspension.

Explain to me how the car can go through inspection, get passed through, and then the roof is too low after qualifying. It's not like you can cut it off and lower it during qualifying. There won't be a fine. I'd love to be around during Nascar's inspection process. These guys sound like clowns, especially after the Dover penalty for Edwards and other lame penalties handed out during the year.

His fine was going from 2nd to 42nd. Nascar has disqualified cars and sent them to the back without any other fines.
Gordon at Daytona is an example.
If your thinking Gordon/Johnson at the Glenn, that was modifying the COT body, not height.

Isn't it funny how everyone has an opinion and no idea where to find any real answers when it comes to NASCAR rules? I wonder if the NASCAR officials play the same game as we do guessing at the answer and then "Vote for Best Answer" on Tuesday when it is announced?

No fines for qualifying...his time will not be allowed and he will be sent to the back of the field. If he were outside the top 35 in owner's points, and his time was not allowed, he would be sent home.

I don't think they will fine him. Just make him start at the rear of the field in a car that passes inspection.

I doubt he will get a fine, he is moving to 42nd starting place, thats enough....if he gets a fine it will be a small one, but I say rocketman having to go to 42nd place is enough Nascar...
