I think most people have a combination of both factors. They want to help where they can but there are some things that they simply want for themselves. To me, it is important to believe in the good of mankind.

Having suffering a serious health condition and spent time in the hospital and various other medical facilities, I saw the best and the worst of humanity. Some people whether they were medical professional or friends, when above and beyond giving me tangible help and moral support. Some medical professionals were simply uncaring and some friends are either too frighten of illness to support you or are too self-absorbed to realize a friend or family member is in need.

I worked for a business owner who gave incredible perks to those of us on her management staff but this same person would put up a fight when I tried to give an hourly employee a decent raise. I never did figure out her train of thought but I got in trouble for giving our raising that were too high!

One of my favorite quotes is "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing"......Edmund Burke ---- I believe in this completely.

No, I do not. Just take a look at all the immorality and wickedness in the world today. Beware as things will get worse before they get better.

The truly good people who love what is good, who love what God loves, are being persecuted regularly in the world while the other immorals like fornicators, drunkards, rapists, adulterers, false religious leaders and their lame followers, liars, cheats, men who lie with men, men who use the flesh unnaturally, extortioners, thieves, revilers, rapists, murderers, racist filth bags, war mongers, violent ones, trouble-making perpetuators, and the list is never ending...

No. Most people are not generally good. The flesh might say one thing, but once they open their mouths or expose themselves say on a public forum like this, it's easy to see that most fail in terms of being "generally good".

All people are imperfect but most abuse that excuse constantly.

Armageddon is the only cure...I cannot wait, but I don't even know how I will be judged. I have a hope, but God will judge all, but sadly, most will have a rude awakening. That is what his word the Bible tells us.

Brace yourself...things will only worsen in the world...we're only scratching the surface of "the times of Tribulation.

Yes most people are general good, It is the influence of peers, and otter factors that usually play a part as to why SOME people go from good to bad.

People are born pretty neutral, though some bad and good qualities can be inherited through the genetic side of personality. It's the sum of all our experiences, which reach into the hundreds of thousands as we grow older, that help develop the rest of our personality: how we think, and how we act.
