True , however taking out Sadam Hussein wouldnt have meant the Iraqi Regime would collapse.

His sons after all would have then been the power and if we've learned anything, it was that Uday was stone cold insane in the Membrane, Quesay wasnt much better as head of the Secret Police

True, but only if such a sniper could have been inserted to a fortuitious location and not detected by Saddam's body guards. And even if he managed to hit the target, there would be no escape

It would be a suicide mission, for sure

And let's not forget, Saddam's sons and Ba'athist cronies needed to be removed also.

Doubtful. He was surrounded by an impenetrable security force and his movements were ultra-secret. Despite having many luxury palaces he regularly slept in sheds and bunkers in considerable discomfort so that he could not be a target for a bombing raid. He also had an army of doubles who were paraded in public, and possibly met foreign dignitaries in his place, so that he could move unnoticed. A sniper would never have got within a thousand yards of him with much certainty.

Yes he could have, but in the 90s would Clinton have oked it. Its not our policy to use assassination on a head of State.

Yes, but that would not have solved anything. One of his sons would have likely taken control, and you can't just assassinate every leader until you get one you like.
