I can go you one better. Mark O'Hara, a 45 year old truck driver from Tampa, Florida, was sentenced to 25 years for distribution of Vicodan. Mark has a bad back and a prescription for the drugs. He never assaulted anyone with them, nor did he "distribute" them. It turns out that if you have more than a certain small amount, the onus of burden of proof is lifted from the prosecution--they are allowed to assume you are selling, and there is no defense or presumption of innocence.

What in the world? Maybe he's been in trouble with the law before and the police just had it with him, so when he was charged for assualt they decided to incarcerate him.
