Pit bulls are not naturally aggressive, unless they've had raw meat... and if you want them to live peacefully with cats, your boyfriend needs to think about 'in humane'. In humane is your cat being chased by a pit. Chopping off a dog's balls is humane. I'm not saying its the 'ubersuperduperwonderfulfantastic' thing to do. But, the better. If your boyfriend refuses to have his dog fixed after realizing the fact that it will be better for everyone, including him because the dog will no longer pee on things as much, then just **** it, they'll have to be separated. Maybe you should just convince him to build an small extension to the house that will be the 'pit room' with a door that opens into a fence(but not into the house so if you open the door, it can't get to the cats) that you two can get into to see the dog. (possibly something so the dog can see into the house too, but not get into it, like a large glass window)

I had an adult cat when I got my puppy, so the dog knew who was boss at an early age. Cat passed, I moved and had a stray kitten come up and adopt the dog & I. The dog watched over the new addition and the 2 were in separatable. Got another kitten and the "twins" acted like he did not exist. They ate, slept and played together. Dog passed and the cat wandered around looking for her. Yes, they can get along wonderfully.

yes a cat and a dog can live in the same house peacefully. i had a rottweiler and three cats living together and they got along fine. try to make them smell the area where the other one sleeps. that way they can get familiar with each others smell.

Yes... I've had cats and dogs together most of my life. However, I no longer trust leaving my dogs with my cats when i'm not at home.... Animals can be unpredictable. I know a lot of people who have had no problem with keeping dogs and cats in the same home. It all depends on the attitude of the dog. =)

Yes, of course, the common myth of cat-dog hate relationships is entirely false. Many people have these two pets together. I was actually at a farm once buying some goods since they had a stand set up. They were also selling puppies, and I saw one of them looking at us and walking around next to a cat. It looked like the two of them were friends.

depends on their personalities, but yea! I have a cat and dog right now! I think it's best though if they're both introduced to each other at a young age.
