You can make a glass substitute by melting the sugar into a syrup then molding it into whatever you want, but it has to be extremely hot to mold it. Then it will harden.

I didn't find any clay recipes for sugar, but you can use flour in Playdoh. Lots of recipes for playdoh out there. I just thought playdoh might be close enough to "clay" for what you're trying to do.

I don't think so. You can make a thick syrup, in which hard crystals tend to form and grow.
