Does God pick and choose the prayers that he answers? Why are so many heart filled prayers unanswered?

All prayers are answered. God's answer may not always be the one we want to hear. In that regard we are, many times, like small children when it comes to asking Him things.

God as our Creator actually knows what is best for us, better than we know. Faith is the trust that God knows what He is doing, and that in the end it will all work out.

It only appears to some that heart filled prayers are unanswered. Sometimes it takes discernment, the discernment that only God's Holy Spirit provides, to determine what God is telling us and why.

When you pray, pray not only for material things, but also pray for this discernment to know what God's Will for you is.

Absolutely. If we fully understandand how God works toward man, we'll also understand that God does not answer every prayers. Not only that, not all people who prays are entertained by God. You see, the Bible has put a line between the "sons or children of God" and the "sons of the devil". Proverbs 3:33 says..."The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just." You see, not only God answer not the prayers of the wicked, He even curse them? But the just...pray or no prayers - God blesses them.

From this verse, we'll understand how God works in regards to prayers offered to Him. And there are so many verses in the Bible that proves this further. I hope I can tackle all this right now.

Anyway, may God bless you...

Prayer is not like placing an order in a restaurant. It does presuppose any obligation on the part of the Supreme Being. A prayer may be one of thanksgiving but more often it is a beseeching of mercy, essentially a wish or desire. God may or may not choose to extend His mercy in accord with His will, and His reasons are forever unknowable to humanity. You are basically asking why heartfelt and worthwhile wishes are not always granted. The answer is that God is not a genii in a brass lamp.

See this is the thing about God. He doesn't just give us anything we want. We have to be in His will and under the authority of His word. Our hearts have to be right, we have to be in right standing with him. For example, if we smoke boxes and boxes of cigarettes a day, and pray to God and ask Him to heal us from lung cancer, He's not gonna do it. If we're asking God for a house and a car, and we don't immediately see it, its like...sometimes we need to stop asking God for natural things. If I want a car, that's wat a job is for. THe bible says in Timothy, i think, "if you don't work, you don't eat." Which means that if u want something in the natural, a house, a car, a new wardrobe, you gotta get out there make and save money to get it.

And let me tell you this: God ALWAYS answers our prayers. But an answer can be yes, or no. And I think sometines us Christians forget that God can say no too; especially if what we're praying for is outside of His word. And when God says no, or that thing that u want or that ur asking God to heal, or to bless, or to give you doesn't happen, don't lose faith, trust and hope in God. God always says no for a reason. And if we remember that Jesus ALWAYS has our best intrest at heart, we can rest assured, like Romans 8:28 says, "All things work together for good, to them that love God and are called according to His purpose." Not our own purpose, but walking in God's purpose.
God Bless.

I believe some prayers are the ones where you ask, seek, and knock and all the while you are gaining strength and understanding and faith
that's a time when you continue in well doing and you will reap if you faint not

in the meantime you also learn patience

there are some things that involve other people and He has to move people and things around and because He is so kind and merciful and gentle it takes time

NO , we decide if He answers our prayers or not, by the way we choose to live, God says that "the prayers of the righteous availeth much" He also says to honor your wife, that your prayers may not be hindered. There are many stipulations for God to ignore prayers, many are said in vain, because there are only a few people who are really real in their heart with God.

No, He answers all prayers...even if it is a No. I understand what you are saying but, God is a God of justice and a God of love. It would be an unjust act for Him not to answer all prayers; therefore, He does answer them but, not always in ways we want Him too!

We have to remember that God does know best and some of these "unanswered prayers" are actually, blessings, in disquise.

Just remember, God loves you and all, He does not let your words fall empty uon His ears!

God knows what you can handle and what you cannot.
On the other hand He is not a trained poodle that will answer to every whim and wish.
Your prayer may be heart filled, however is it sincere?
Many of my prayers are answered, but not how I want them to be.
Patience and timing are key. What you want now may not become evident until such a time that He feels you are ready.
Keep the faith.

God Bless.

Every prayer is always answer. Whether the answer is yes, no, or wait, every prayer is answered. God does hear your prayers and He does love you.

God always answers prayers. But sometimes the answer we receive isn't the answer we wanted. When Jesus was praying before his arrest and crucifixion, He prayed "let this cup pass from me. But not my will, but Thine be done." (Mark 14:36). That's how we should pray -- that God's will be done. I try to always do that, because I know that God knows what I need even more than I do. I trust Him through everything. So even if I don't get what I prayed for, I know God has a reason. Hope this helps.
