i really need help regarding this matter... my pc has windows xp home edition as its OS now I'm planning to switch to windows vista.. can i just add the vista to my existing OS? how is it done? do i still need to install all the hardware drivers after the installation of vista? how about my files/documents?

yes u can just upgrade from your home to vista, but u need to buy the windows vista CD upgrade or the vsita CD

First, you want to be sure your PC will run Vista. It is a large program. Vista has an advisor which will examine your PC and let you know if it can be done.

Just install and it should do almost everything on it's own, you'll probably get questions on what to do with this or that but you shouldn't lose any files etc. After you get Vista installed then you'll have to reconfigure some things the way you want them.

Just buy Vista and pop the CD in :) It'll destroy XP, but you can keep your photos, mp3s, etc. Still, its always best to back up.
