Its most likely a spider bite but not recluse or black widow. It would be turning awful colors and have a large lump and necrosis. I got bit by a rabid wolf spider and it looked like that They are not toxic but can cause a painful bite. Some people just have a worse reaction than others. If you start having muscular pains, fever or headache or notice the bite turning black go to an ER immediately.
Take a benedryl and apply some cortisone lotion for the itching. The benedryl should reduce systemic effect of the venom and stop the itching.

Its possible that its a bite from a tick.
These can be serious and not so serious. If your allergic, get medical attention as soon as possible.
If you experience any problems with breathing, muscle spasm, get help.
Don't scratch it whatever it is though, can just upset it more.
It may not be an insect bite just a rash from clothes and sweat or plants. Plants just tend to irritate skins for while.
If you live in an area with recluse spiders, brown I do believe they are called, definetly get medical attention. The bits can also look similiar, white ring and also red. These are more harmful than ticks.
Definetly get to a hospital or other medical centre if its starts to feel instense and ulcers form.

You don't need health insurance to go to the doctor. It just means that you will pay more out of pocket. When you are in enough pain & discomfort, you will have someone look at it.
If money is the issue, just wait a bit and see if it gets worse or gets better on its own.
You don't have to take the treatment the doctor assigns you, but it would be good to have an opinion as to what is going on.
PS I like what the Navy Medic advised also.

I agree with what most have said about warm compress ect..also first go and get some benadryl and take that..if you are having a reaction to any bite the benadryl is what is going to help!!! Take that for a few days, apply some cream like either cortizone-10 to help with the itch. I keep looking at it and its hard to really tell..I can tell you that our daughter can get a bug bite and she has a reaction like something bad happened..the muscle gets really hard and rashes up as well..try this stuff first as you don't have health insurance and after a few days if its not going away you should go to the clinic. (would be cheaper) Good luck and keep us posted with an update ok.

Stop scratching! Apply warm compresses (washrag with hot water) 4 times a day to bring down the spreading and swelling. Then apply hydrocortisone cream and let the area get air, dont bandage it. If it keeps spreading or you start to have a fever head to the doc.

It looks and sounds like a spider bite. Some of these can become very serious if let go. Time for a visit to the Emergency Room.
