Yes. That is the only place that checked luggage will be placed. Carry on luggage of course will go inside the plane.

Yes, the cargo compartments are pressurized and air conditioned just like the cabin. If it's a small dog that can fit it a carrier that fits under the seat in front of you (not in the overhead), then it can ride in the cabin, with certain restrictions.

yes they still do that. your dog will be place in a cage that has water in it. and in to the cargo compartment of the plane. and the airline personnel will inform the pilots thru their cargo manifest then they will know the location of your dog in the cargo compartment so that they can pressurize the cargo compartment and adjust the airconditioning to a comfort level.

Where else do you think they fly, they aren't allowed in the cabin.
