Sounds like you should have gotten her a pitbull to protect her from a jealous wife!

If you are a responsible person you should take the kitten as your own and give it a good home because it sounds like no one else will.

Just a bit of advice, never give an animal to someone who doesn't know that their boyfriend has a wife. Didn't that kind of give it away that she wouldn't be able to take care of the cat? There are so many sober/unmarried men out there, that for her to pick this guy and get "almost pregnant" by him has to say something about her willingness to take care of herself, let alone a small animal.

Yes, you bought it without askihg her which is always a no-no. Never buy pets for friends~!!! Anyways, since you purchased the poor kitty, it should be your responsibility to take care of it and make sure it will be okay. Good luck :)

P.s. If she wants to keep the kitten then let her, but if not, you should definiteily take it back.

So uh.. you gave a friend a kitten when she might be pregger... that's an extra responsibility... and once the baby is born (if she is), then she can't keep the cat because of toxoplasmosis .... dangerous for the baby. But now the cat is sick and she's back to not having a cat and now you have to find a home for it.... you keep the cat... or train the cat to fight and throw it at the stupid bf.

If you think it's best for the kitten than yes, if you think you should find someone else that would be good to, but if your friend doesn't know what your thinking she may be offended by it, like you don't trust her or something. Just be careful not to step on her toes, if she knows what's up than you should do something to help this kitten either find a home or take it home. Good luck

Yes, keep the kitten. You are a good friend, but it's never a good idea to give a pet as a gift without prior discussion about the subject.

Due to the story line here I'd say your kind of obligated to keep it a least until you can place the kitty

If you know how to care for it and have the time, go ahead. If not, the best thing would be to surrender the kitten to your local humane society or animal control service.

Yes, you should keep the kitty. You should not give pets as gifts.

Duh, yes.

Giving animals as presents without advance checking is not a good idea. A cat is a 15 year committment, one she didn't make, you did for her. Take the kitten out of that environment, they're not cat owners they're the recipients of a walking 'toy' someone gave them and won't take care of it.

if you want to and feel competent to take care of it, otherwise you can put it on petfinder.com or give it to a no-kill shelter. don't just keep it out of guilt though if you want to and feel you can do it then go for it but if not it can still find a nice home.
