They would still lose weight, but not as fast and they won't feel as well. The sugars and carbs are addicting and because of that the person will be hungry and they will have sugar highs and lows. When you do low cal and minimal starches you feel better, lose weight faster, and are healthier overall because your body will receive the proper nutrients it needs to function properly.

You will probably but you will later gain it all back and on the way do a lot of damage.
Body needs nutrients like complex carbs, lean protein, healthy fats, dietary fiber etc.
It doesnt matter if food is low in calories because all you eat is converted into energy and only if not spend stored in fat reserves so theoretically you could be eating fruit only and gain weight.

The sugar & carbs are supposed to be BURNED off, as they're energy.
Excess energy usually leads to fat.

They both are Ideal for your health. If you eat both, you're better off. But yea, I've choose fruits because they taste better.

actually, for a while, yes, 1200 calories is 1200 calories. but, in doing so, you stress your endocrine system to the max and become resistant to your own insulin, eventually, you become diabetic and require lifetime medications or insulin shots to live. Not a good idea.
