how do i get new master pages for open office?

i am using the 2.3 version of open office. Master slides mean the colorful pages

By master slides do you mean templates? I create my own templates, save them to a file like:

0 blank template for ---------

The reason why I precede the filename with a 0 is to cause it to display at the top of the list of files - makes for quick access.

When I want to use a template, I open it, and save to a new filename.
