Sounds like you might be describing a hammer toe. You will need to see a podiatrist for treatment. Treatment will range anywhere from padding, to proper shoes, to orthotics, to surgery...depending on the flexibility (movement) still present in your toe and the severity of your toe's condition. There is nothing you can do by yourself to treat your toe...especially since it has been a few years. Please see a podiatrist (foot doctor) asap.
