I heard in passing that due to the strain on the military the govn't has made adjustments to the max age that can apply. I am curious about max age and signing bonuses.

Army has raised it to 42. everybody else has kept their previous age limits. generally between 27-32. This is for initial entry. retirement ages..20 years of service or 65. Once in a blue moon you get some 2 or 3 star that gets congressional approval to stay in longer. Adm. Grace Murray Hopper did something like 40 years.

I was in the Navy during the First Gulf War, and we had an Admiral who enlisted in 1943. He had stripes from his shoulder down to his cuffs on his jacket.
