if you need to hunt, buy the ammunition. Sounds like you are too young to purchase ammunition, and you can't just "make" bullets.

You can cast your own lead bullets, take existing cases, press in new primers, fill with the correct amount and type of gunpowder, and press your new bullet into it.

It is very time consuming, and takes reloading equipment.

Not something you are going to do by tomorrow.

Chaz, old buddy, I don't think you are ready for hunting just yet. Listen to what "Doc" has to say. I have no idea what you mean by "little circles" so I can't help you there. Loading amunition is not something you do overnight. At least not someone who is as apparently lacking in knowlege as you are. What you need to do is to learn much more about the use of firearms and about hunting. Then go buy some ammo and forget for now the idea of making your own. You've got a lot to learn yet before you are ready to make your own ammo. You appear to have been born after 1986 so you will be required to take a hunter safety course before you set foot in the woods to hunt. You've got a long road ahead of you but take heart, because it is a fun road and will open up a world of fun for you.

Would somebody just answer the question already?! Before Kevlar, I believe nylon was used for soft body armor (and before that, silk). I don't know how you would obtain the correct weave or amount of nylon, but it's easier to obtain and cheaper than Kevlar. If you look at commercial vests, there are usually pockets into which plates can be inserted to increase bullet resistance. These plates are usually ceramic (very "tough" in the materials science sense) in order to save weight. Since one normally does not have access to fancy ceramics, mild steel will do, but you will pay a big weight penalty. I would go with 0.5" or more to stop slower handgun rounds. High power handgun rounds might still make it through. I suppose ceramic tiles could work too (a la Mythbusters). It's worth noting that on Mythbusters they used tiles plus a glass fiber reinforced plaster. Without this bonding agent, a bullet hitting the tiles would shatter them, rendering them useless, and also send sharp shards into your eyes and skin. Plus, you would look like an idiot if your suit of "armor" suddenly fell to pieces like a Sarah Palin interview. Of course, this assumes you didn't already feel foolish running around with patterned floor/wall tiles dangling from you. In summary, the answer is yes, it is possible to make your own homemade body armor that is capable of stopping whatever you want, but the weight and bulk will be prohibitive if you plan on stopping anything more than slow handgun rounds.

Docs right, just stay home unless you have an adult making sure you are safe.

When I need bullets, I go out into my garage, resize and deprime, prime, charge and seat my own bullets. Its called a reloading press.
If you don't want to do this, take mommy or daddy to the store with you and ask them to buy some for you. If they get mad or look confused, maybe you should just stick to frog hunting in the backyard with a long stick and a slingshot.

I'm going to try to be nice to you because I used to have a Yorkie named Chaz.

If you are going hunting tomorrow, and you have no ammunition, you can't make it at this late date.

To make your own ammunition, you will need lead, a bullet mould, a lead melting furnace, a Lubri-Sizer, unprimed brass cartridges cases, primers of the proper size, the proper gunpowder, a powder scale, a loading block, a funnel, a reloading press, reloading dies of the proper caliber, and a reloading manual.

It is still early enough that you can go to a Wal-Mart or K-Mart and purchase ammunition.

Unless you know lots more about hunting and woodscraft than your post indicates, DON'T GO!!! Unless you have a knowledgeable and responsible adult to accompany you.

Doc

Really little circles.???
Please tell me you have a responsible adult taking you hunting. Please tell me you won't be venturing out into the wilderness by yourself. You can buy ammunition at any gun store or sporting goods shop. The adult that is hopefully taking you hunting tomorrow will have ammunition, ask him for some.
