Wow, the responses to this are interesting, people think you're insane, yet if you asked about removing his foreskin nobody would care. And yet the foreskin is much more useful and fun than the appendix and tonsils.

I don't think you can. Although the appendix has no known function in the body, the tonsils are there for a filter. They filter out bacteria that will cause sickness and are kind of a "gauge" to tell if a sickness is in the body.
Also, unless you want to pay for he operations on your own money, no insurance company is going to pay to have major surgery "just because". That might be something to think about too.~

NO WHERE. nobody has their tonsils removed these days, so dont worry about that. and you shouldnt go taking them out for no reason! also, removing his appendix would not be good for no reason. How old is this kid? do you know how bad it hurts to have that done? i had a friend and in 2nd grade she had her tonsils out and she couldnt eat anything for 2 weeks, only mashed potatoes because she was starving and it hurt to eat. Its not right to do that to your kid if theirs nothing wrong with it.
Another friend had her appendix out and she still has the scar! she was out of school for a month and she cried because it hurt but it hurt to cry.
bottom line.. NO

I hope this a sarcastic question about why do people remove the foreskin on infants for no reason. why put someone through unnecessary surgery to remove an appendix, tonsils or foreskin just because they MAY have a problem one day.

This is an elective surgery, but I would think if a surgeon would put in breast implants, they would take out tonsils or appendices. It seems to me that surgeons are plenty ready to do almost anything a person wants. I'd check the America Pediatric assn and find a referral.

CAN I JUST ASK WHY YOU WANT THIS DONE? WE NEED THE THINGS THAT ARE IN OUR BODY. SURE, WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT THEM, BUT THEY ARE THERE FOR A REASON. I AM ALMOST 35 AND STILL HAVE BOTH SO I WAS JUST WONDERING WHY?
TO ANSWER THE QUESTION-YOU MOST LIKELY WONT, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS ON A CHILD. THEY WOULD BE PUTTING THEMSELVES AT RISK FOR A LARGE LAW SUIT SHOULD SOMETHING HAPPEN. SURGERY IS NOT SAFE AND CERTAINLY NO INSURANCE WOULD AUTHORIZE IT.
YOUR CHILD MAY NEVER HAVE PROBLEMS WITH EITHER OF THEM. PLEASE JUST REMEMBER THAT, AGAIN, SURGERY,ISNT SAFE. YOU DONT WANT YOUR CHILD UNDER ANESTHESIA FOR A NON-NECESSARY SURGERY AND WOULDN'T WANT THEM TO GO THROUGH THE PAIN AFTERWORDS.

Why would you want to do this to your child? Who says that he'll need them removed when he gets older? Plenty of people live long lives with all their "original equipment". I personally think you need your head examined.
