Depends how old you are and how old your friend is. Plus, you decide who your references should be, not your friends. But friends are not exactly a good reference. They are your friends, so of course they are going to say good things about you.
If you are younger, then teachers are a good reference. Clergy is good, if you belong to a religious group. Coaches from sports teams are good. Older friends of your family, maybe your parents' friends who have known you for years are OK. Your doctor is OK... people like this.
If you are older, then clergy and doctors are good. Anyone who has known you in a previous job is good, preferably people who were your boss or somebody else's boss.

Since this is your first resume, I think is alright to put down your friend as your reference. I recommend to put down more than one reference. If you only have one, you should put down a teacher that really know you, or someone who can point out the positive side of you.

It depends on the company. Sometimes they would like to have you give personal references or professional references on an application. I guess since its your first job, maybe you can write down a person from a place that you volunteered at or a coach. Good luck.

You can put her down as a personal reference, but not as a job reference. For that you'll need someone who has supervised you in a job.

Not your friend, never put your friends in, unless they are in a position of power, like a boss. They tend to lie for you and employers know that.
Teachers, Club leaders, private tutors (swimming, piano etc etc) are real good for your first resume.
If you want your friend in, put them at the back for like a character reference, if you have to, try not to though. It will show the employer, you are independent eought not to rely on your m8s

Anyone who does not live with you, and you are not related to can be a personal reference. Good luck.

You can use friends...they just dont want family members on there. In the future when you have more job experience you can use former employers or friends.
