Hi Kemperg,
Craig's List is not the only and probably not the best place to free advertise.
There another ways to promote your business than using just free classifieds.
First of all, you just lost an opportunity above to have it advertised.
Use your weblink always (but not out of the context), have it printed on businesses cards, paperwork, etc.
Split your tactics in:
Offline and online
Offline:
- Offer free consultancy for local group/entity/organization
- Seminars
- Promote your model as unique and inovator

OnLine
- Promote your URL using free foruns
- Become a specialist at Yahoo Answers
- Become a specialist at any online business forum.
- Optimize you website.
- subscribe your URL to search Engines as Google, Yahoo and MSN
- Subscribe your URL to free Directories as DMOZ

Take a look on the websites listed as sources.
Good Luck

There are several places where you can promote your business online for free.

Here are some of the more popular classified websites (beyond CL) where you can post your ads for free.

http://www.backpage.com
http://www.kijiji.com
http://expo.live.com
http://www.ClassifiedAds.com

All four have high traffic, allow you to post for free and are local centric with a global reach.

Also think beyond the classified listings. Both Yahoo and Google have local options for businesses.

http://listings.local.yahoo.com/csubmit/index.php

And so do the online yellow pages such as SuperPages.com
http://advertising.superpages.com/spweb/portals/customer.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=bp_listing_find&_nfls=false

Done right, you could set up a free business profile with Google, Yahoo or SuperPages and then promote that through the free classified sites.

All the best to you with your business!

Hi Kemper, try www.startupnation.com these guys started in their basement and are doing great and offer advice free , there was a article recently about them inthe det news I think the 9/2/07 edition or go to their site and of course you can always advertise through churches or local boards but best way I found is through networking, going to alot of functions and meeting people / handing out cards etc.. only about a 2% return on flyers and phone does'nt work and ads are expensive. good luck hope this helps
