What were your thoughts about Columbia asking him to speak, what did you feel about what he said and did you feel he prothletized alot? As a Christian, I would be hard pressed to find a Univ like Columbia that would invite a born again Christian who was prothletizing on stage. Do you feel it is a double standard? Not? Free speech to him as well? Thoughts?

I am posting in here because, Im most comfortable here, but also this kind of ties in with religion, I suppose.

I feel ya! the same ones ranting about ones right to free speech are the ones who would deny the Christian's a forum in this Democratic country.

If a university can invite the likes of John Moore or George Soros, Columbia University, a private institution, has the right under our Constitution to invite a jerk Ahmadinajad (?). The president of Iran I believe is an unsophisticated and uneducated man. He has beady eyes and thus cannot be trusted. As I suspected, he fell right into a trap. He looked like an amoeba after Mr. Bolinger bad mouth him.

For one, I feel it's straight up disrespectful the way he was treated by President Bush and the University.
It seems with his visit he at least tried to reconcile while our government basically shitted on his offer. To me it sounds like our government wants to go to war with Iran.
And my view on the University? Well, if they didn't want him to speak (which it looked like it by the way everybody was acting) then they shouldn't have invited him. And yes, if we brag about our freedom of speech then that applies to everybody.
I'm not "favoring" the Iranian President, but from my point of view we were pretty rude, being there's no proof of him having any kind of nuclear weapons... just like Saddam didn't have any WMD's...

This guy the president of Iran is not good to look at! but, he is educated. He has a PhD in Civil Engineering & Transportation Engineering.
Although I dislike the guy but the truth is the truth.

I think the president of Iran is a little different than a Christian minister/speaker proselytizing. A lot of people are angry he was invited. I have no problem with it. He pretty much hung himself with his words, he didn't need the president of the college badgering him.

hmmmm... his is the president and deserves the respect the post deserves. But let a man that has said he will destroy Israel and the US etc., denies the holocaust etc. etc.... hmm Free speach is good I think but the fact he is getting good comments shows a real ignorance of what this man stands for.
