Do you take the express line with more items than the limit? (And I'm not talking 12 items with a ten-item limit--I mean a whole basketful. Checkers almost never challenge these.)

Do you let people with one or two items go ahead of you when you have a full cart?

Do you return your shopping cart when you have unloaded it?

Are you courteous in the aisles?

Do you thank the baggers?

Is shopping usually a pleasurable experience for you and those who go with you?

I do about 85 percent of our grocery shopping. My wife hates grocery shopping and tends to impulse buy more than I do, so I'm usually the one who goes to the supermarket or to Walmart.

I sometimes have trouble finding her cosmetics and such, but usually the store people are a big help. I live in a small town and do most of my shopping at a grocery chain store.

I know most of the checkers and baggers by name and we usually like each other. Many of them are high school kids and I usually have several favorites among them.

I enjoy the interaction and try to make the shopping experience pleasant for them. If a girl has a new hairdo or new glasses I'll usually complement them.

I try equally to be considerate of other shoppers. In a small town many of us know each other or go to church together.

So I find the experience pleasant and I try to keep it pleasant for store workers and other shoppers.

I do see a lot of discourteous actions, however, always by shoppers.

No, I try to follow the rules and not abuse the express lanes... I would hate to see someone carrying 30 items in front of me and making a misuse of this special service. So maybe if I have 1-2 extras I do enter the express lane but no more.

No, everyone has a place in line -- sorry, you have to respect it.

Yes, whenever I can I return it to wherever all the carts are gathered, or if it's way too far at least I leave it somewhere where it won't be a hassle for anyone.

I'm as courteous as I can be, especially try not to be an obstacle to others with my cart (which most ppl don't give a damn about and it PISSES ME OFF big time).

In Mexico we do have baggers and we're supposed to tip them..... I always thank them, and almost always tip them (unless I just purchased 2-3 things).

Yeah, usually it's pleasurable except when the parking lot is extra full, when the check out lines are crowded and you have to wait for hours to pay for your shopping.... and when you can't find something you really needed or wanted!!!

I won't even take 11 items through the 10 items or less lane.

Normally, yes.

I always park next to a cart corral if I have the grand kids with me and if I don't, I always take the cart at least as far as a safe place at the front of the building.

I try to be considerate of others, but in places like Walmart, where people allow their children to run wild, I tend to get a little tense, which I'm sure comes off as being a grouchy old woman *laugh*. Although I never say anything, I'm sure my facial expression says plenty.

I always thank the baggers and if I only have 1 or 2 light bags, I carry them out myself so the baggers can help someone else or take a little break.

I really don't like to shop and have to be in the mood before I'll go with anyone else. I'm a go in, get what I need and leave type shopper. My husband has to stop and look at EVERYTHING. We don't shop together too often.........

I think I am a fairly courteous shopper.
I only go to the store once a week, so the express line is never an option.
I always let people with less items go ahead of me.
I try to make sure I don't take up the whole isle and never leave my cart unless I am sure the space is large enough for 2 carts to pass, which is rare.
I do thank the baggers as I use canvas bags, I also ask them to load them up like crazy.
It is usually pleasurable unless my teenager goes. He tries to use that time (in public) to try to get away with rude behavior. I do not tolerate that and let him know I will call him on anything that is over the line. If he chooses to behave poorly in public, he chooses to have a reprimand. No exceptions.
I do return my cart as I hate having my own car dented by a stray cart or to have to find another parking space because a cart is in the way.

I nver try and sneak into the express with more then the alloted amount ( ok 12, but that IT) If i have a full cart and someone is behind me with a few items I wont let them if theres an express open. Thats what its for.Yes I return my cart. It pizzes me off when I go to pullinto a space and theres a bleepin cart sittin there!! I try to be courteous, but i tend to zone out and leave my cart in the middle of the isle occationaly ( oops) I do always thank the bagger, they work hard too. I like shopping alone Hate shopping with my mother she is sooo slow and disorganized. Plus she leaves her purse in the cart and walks away. I have to babysit her cart -lol

yes to all but i usually bag my self to expedite the whole thing and i have my debt card ready to give the cashier and if there is a bagger i always say " thank you so much for helping me "
and i cant stand when people just stand there when there is not bagger and wait for the casher to bag everything
its not 1990 any more ....bag your food or go to a higher priced grocery store where there are usually baggers
oh and i move up enough so the person carrying a gallon of milk a box of cereal and kitty litter can put them down and not have to stand there with breaking arms because i refuse to move a foot out of the freakin way
and really people the food cost money why dont you have your card cash or check READY and why do i have to wait while YOU put your change in the special place in the purse and your paper money facing all the same way do that on your own time think of others for goodness sake

I follow the rules; no more than permitted in the lines. Yes, I often let someone go in front of me when they have less items. I always return my shopping cart and sometimes give it to someone who doesn't have change (we have to put 25 cents in to get the basket and it is returned when you put it back); I am courteous in the aisles and appreciate it when others are equally courteous. I help the baggers and thank them always. I enjoy shopping but hate waiting in long lines. It is a part of the experience so no sense in complaining. My husband goes with me occasionally and he doesn't mind because he picks up all kinds of snacks and things. I don't mind the shopping as much as I mind taking it into the house and unpacking it again. (But, food makes me happy so when I am shopping I am looking forward to the recipes I am going to be making.) Have a nice day!!

No, I am never shown the slightest bit of courtesy in the aisles. They are like a gang of yobs even the more senior ones who should be showing some manners.

Always refuse to have anyone pack my bags. It should be my job to pack my own shopping not some poor employee who is made to do it so the company can look good providing an additional service.

I now hate shopping. Its like going into a den of wild animals.I prefer shopping online now.

I shop organic and local meat, fish and produce. There's no express, the clerks know me, the quality is incredible.

In NYC, after standing behind a smelly homeless person for 45 minutes, I quit the supermarket.

I do all of the above but let people take cuts. And yes, shopping is pleasurable for me as long as no one expects to not wait in line behind me.
