believe it or not, i'm not trolling. i honestly want to know. my ex-girlfriend was a half saudi arabian filipina, originally from mindanao, philippines. her father, a muslim, did not eat pork, but owned a hog farm in the philippines. i'm curious to know what muslims think of this. is it still against muslim law, since he didn't eat the stuff, or is it even worse, since he was contributing toward the consumption of pork products? thanks.

Its not for me to judge his faith.

I can however conclude that hes similar to the man who doesnt believe in democracy, but sells it nevertheless :)

I must say this tho, we dont know anyones real reasons for doing something. He might be forced into this kind of job to make the only source of income he can.

Again, not for me to judge. But any Muslim will likely to approach this mans sincerity about his religion, with suspicion and doubt.

Humans need proof for a lot of things (yes even sincerity) were small minded like that (in general)

Islamically speaking there are laws about everything, but there are also exceptions to each of these laws.

If the man is an exception, theres nothing we can say about him.

I'm not Muslim, but Biblical believer in Jesus-- pigs do keep clean on the outside at times, but the reality is they'll EAT almost anything like a living garbage disposal, adding who knows what to their meat and bodies by digesting it all I grew up on a farm, I've watched pigs eat everything they possibly can find - other animals DON'T do this, typically, not to the extent a pig will the sad part is many people will eat about anything as well

Personally think he is violating a simple basic belief in Islam that pork is forbidden. He is certainly contributing to it's consumption. It's like a Muslim selling alcohol.

Muslims don't eat pork, but I don't think having a pig in the farm is also considered against the law...

Actually In speaking to a Muslim once, he told me that a Muslim will ONLY eat Pork in an Emergency, like if he was Dying from Hunger. Well.... what does that say about their Faith?

i got news for you, pork and alcohol are widely available in most ( not all)islamic countries , and legally sold by muslims, some muslims consume alcohol. they are considered sinners because they do what is forbidden , but it is not as bad as adultery and even worse is worshipping prophets /imams with God or not believing in God .
it is not allowed in islam , but some muslims do it because they may not even pray , maybe all they have islamic is their name, they dress differently , behave differently , but have muslim names , that's all.
the sin differs depending on the action and intent, and i tried my best to explain it.
