On Microsoft word- when I used to highlight a word or phrase and start typing, whatever I was typing would replace that word or phrase that I highlighted. I don't know if I did something by accident, but now when I highlight a phrase and start typing, it doesn't do that anymore- it leaves the highlighted text there and I can't even use backspace to erase it when I highlight it- I have to use the delete button.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Look in Tool and then Options. You're looking for "typing replaces selection.

Not sure, but check this: look at the bottom of the window and see if "OVR" is there. If so, try hitting the "insert" key on your keyboard and see if that makes it work.

You have the insert function on. Just hit the insert button on your keyboard and it should take care of the problem.
