It is a lie to claim that myth is truth. The affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth is a fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth. Conservative ideological authorities perpetrate this fraud inorder to be able; to make threats against the life and or afterlife of anybody who does not submit to their authority; and to extort from communities of faithful believers tithes and offerings in exchange for a lifelong indoctrination in a standard of conduct that these same ideological authorities proclaim to be the discovery of the truth about the will of a good one in Heaven at war with and evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth. Extortion based on threats made against the life and or afterlife of others and or a fraudulent affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth should be considered a crime against humanity because in committing acts of extortion based on fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth these ideological authorities lead communities of faithful believers to have a low esteem of self and world that is not conducive to happiness and good health.

Firstly in my personal opinion, I think religion is a self or a 'personal discovery'. Whether they wish to share their own experiences about it is up to that person. We discover various aspects about other religions through our dialog so that we can learn from them. If they wish to keep their religious beliefs a private matter they should not even argue about them. Once you make a statement then you have opened your 'privacy' to others. Thereby nullifying their statement that it is a private matter. The person who is arguing will have to state their position clearly and 'defend' their beliefs. On the other hand if we just listened to what others have to say and state your own opinion we may learn a thing or two. So to answer your question, in my mind those who let others argue about their own beliefs are bringing out their 'private issues' into the public. I don't see anything wrong with that. I think we should have a discourse. Religious beliefs should be shared not hoarded.
MY OPINION
Thanks for the Q

Religion IS a private matter between the person and Allah. If their religious beliefs are argued in public then it would be best to ignore them. Allah only knows of a person's belief and that's all that matters. No, it doesn't nullify their own statement about religion being a private matter. And no, we're not putting religion out of our private lives that way. Anyboby has the right to argue about their religion, but not to get it on a personal level.

To Whom It May Concern:
Number one, no, we are not putting religion out of our private lives, by arguing about it openly. But we should not be arguing over religion because religion is not the answer for the human race. Jesus Christ is the answer. We must seek and know who God is for our self. Religion is where all believers come together in unity and worship and praise the Lord! also, to hear the Word of the Lord by the priest, pastor, ministry, teacher, nun, .etc...
Number two: religion is not a private matter, because religion is just religion. The private matter is to seek God's face privately and personally one on one, get to know who God is to you. Religion just help you to remember that there is a loving and caring God who created the human race in His own images, and to live and follow the Ten Commandments.

I wonder who was the first person to decide that religion should be a private matter...
maybe it's not so much the entire religion, but elements like faith, worship and prayers, that usually remain private...
are the things that are just between you and God (or you and yourself) nullified by discussing your beliefs?...

Yes.
By the same reasoning, when a person openly argues about abortion being a private matter between the woman and her doctor, they have made it a public matter, not private.
Oh, yes. And your sexual preferences should be a private matter, too. If you openly tell everyone about it, then it is no longer only your business, because you have made it public.

True, religion is not just a private matter, it would defeat
the purpose of it as a part of one's identity!
Gays get to come out of the "closet", so
one's religion should be even more so lived
openly. It's an important part of one's life!

I think religion being a private matter is a cop out people use so they don't have to show and prove. Religion deserves to be argued out in the open when it can be properly debunked.

I like to discuss my religion, but some people insist on being right and always try to spark an argument. I see it with every religion.

Christianity is not meant to be a private affair. The Bible commands us to go out and preach the Good Word to all nations. People who state it's private between their Lord and themselves must have missed this part.
If anything, the world needs more exposure to the message of God, not less.

frankly i don't have a problem with being insulted and damned to hell if that's what we have to accept in order to engage in open honest religious discussions. If you keep anything private, how can you evaluate it? You need discuss. I love discussions. I don't mind when people say negative things about my atheistic views, i would rather have that than no discuss
