Jehovah's Witness ONLY!?

Question

Why do you personally hold so much faith in the bible and the NWT? This is a question made for JW's and not an opporutnity for people to slag the JW's off. I will be most annoyed should any JW slating occur.

EDIT: thank you for all the answers. They're perfect. Can you also tell me what in particular gives you faith that the bible is the truth and not to be doubted?

Personally, I have to continually research to prove the Bible is God's inspired word, and worth everything I do to maintain my faith and struggle to hold on to my integrity; a lot is riding on it. Also, I'm a wee bit of a perfectionist (snort) and I really researched the whole thing before I placed my trust in the Bible as God's word. The reason I trust the NWT is because I was studying in the KJV at the same time as I was learning more bible truth, and I couldn't believe how much spurious text was included in that bible...and how many times Jehovah's name was removed from it. The Revelation of John ends with the admonition to not add or take away one word from the scriptures. WHAT!!!! That pretty much did it for me, re: the KJV, although I do believe you can get the truth from all but the most "amended" bibles, because they all stay true to the text at john 20:17, which proves the resurrected Christ has a God, by his own admission.

It's kind of tricky. If you keep testing something and it keeps coming up positive you just keep testing. That's how I do things. Science has come up with the conscious mind as being like a monkey on the back of a tiger, the subconscious. When you can access it through intuition and studying Emotional Intelligence you get the ability to answer questions the left brain can't handle. I see how the process works and it's amazing. I think if you study those two subjects you will see for yourself. Backgound information on a subject is necessary,. but the proof is always in the testing. I know the powers of the brain sound incredible, but that's what their finding out and it's what geniuses had going for them. You can get most of it too. I'm tempted to explain more, but if you care you can look it up. I know it all may sound incredible, but the universe is incredible and so's the mind. I'm just saying, do that and then you'll be much more sure of your answers and what's up.

WHY DO WE PUT FAITH IN THE BIBLE AND NOT DOUBT IT?

There are many reasons. No one has ever proven the Bible to be inaccuarte.

The Bible was witten over a 2 thousnd year period (or there abouts) by more than 40 writters from lawyers, doctors, kings, fisherman, and ordinary men, and the internal harmony is outstanding.

The Bible is full of history written in advance (prophecy) that can be varified by archiologists.

A little reply to trolltotroll about the translations. Maybe I am a victim of the JW propaganda train . But I agree with the new translations you mentioned.

It was a Stake , not a Cross .
“sheol,” "hades,” "gehenna," and "tartarus," are not hell.
Sheol is the gloomy place of the dead.
Hades is a Greek mythical realm.
Tartarus is the Greek mythical underworld of Hades
Gehenna is where you go to be judge for your lifes deeds ( a kind of waiting room )
The name Gehenna comes from the name of a valley outside Jerusalem where children were sacrificed to the Ammonite god Molech.

It is my belief the Hell concept was developed by the Christians as a means to control the population and stop the flock from straying to other faiths - oh and used to frighten innocent kids and atheists into believing .

However, many translations have eliminated the use of the divine name from the sacred record. On the other hand, the New World Translation dignifies and honors the worthy name of the Most High God by restoring it to its rightful place in the text.
The New World Translation is not the first version to restore the divine name in the Christian Greek Scriptures. As to the NWT, everytime I look up it's choice of translation in Strongs, I found that it is correct in it's usage.

Another interesting thing Dr. Jason BeDuhn, said as to why the NWT is so different for most bibles,

Is not because of bias, but because of the accuracy of the translation.

He said he was surprised that a bible put out by one religious organization was so accurate.

He said you should expect an organization with definite beliefs, to be very bias in their translation.

He went on to say that the translators of the NWT are bias, but their bias happens to agree with what the bible writers actually wrote.

Don't let "unsilencedlamb" get to you, she is disfellowshipped or for some reason after years of being a "JW" she left the organization & all that comes out of her mouth now is negative disgusting sayings about the Witnesses. She has me blocked, so that I cannot answer her questions,she does not like truthful answers.
Does "Oh Baby O" really believe that the NWT was put together by uneducated people, when Bible Scholars say just the opposite, and I did not use the word "nonbelivers" it was the word "Apostates" that was used, both of them should be familiar with the word.

Talking about uneducated people, these two are not capable of reading your question, because stated in the ???, "This is a question made for JW's" only. They show no respect for the "asker" of the ???. They just want to get their two cents.

While critical of some of its translation choices, BeDuhn called the New World Translation a “remarkably good” translation, “better by far” and “consistently better” than some of the others considered. Overall, concluded BeDuhn, the New World Translation “is one of the most accurate English translations of the New Testament currently available” and “the most accurate of the translations compared.”

Hi. We have very strong faith in the Bible because it is God's word. We try to adhere to what God expects from us, and we will not receive such information by mankind, but by the Creator himself, through his Word. The New World Translation has been known to be an accurate translation of the original Scriptures. We do not focus on a man made building or idol, but on God's word the Bible.

For me, the Bible allows us to get to know our Creator on a personal level. It is written in the Bible, all of Jehovah's wonderful qualities most especially his LOVE for us.
