Your calm JRT is an anomaly, they are usually hyper.
Same with TFTs.
A three month old hyper TFT is NORMAL.

You can use his hyper-ness to your advantage. Spend time playing with him, fetch, running partner, etc... You can use these as a reward system for training too.
Try this exercise: Pick him up and roll him on his back in your arms, like holding a baby. Place your left hand underneath for support, and place your right hand on his chest with your fingers spread out so that your pinky and thumb are underneath his armpits. Hold him there for 5 minutes or so. You can increment this as he gets better at it. Anytime he squirms, apply slight pressure and make a loud "EEHHHT" sound (like when someone gets a question wrong). When he relaxes, you can relax a little and say "Yes!" in an excited happy voice. After the time has passed let him down on the ground give him treats, praise him, pet him, play with him. Since he is still young you should spend about 30 minutes a day training him different things. Find his motivation and use that as reward.
Also you might consider his diet. Look at the ingredients of the dog food. Carbohydrates are where the immediate energy comes from. Switch to a food that has brown rice in it. This carb source gives slow release energy and prevents hyperactivity.
Consider enrolling in a pet training class. The best one's I've seen are at Petsmart.
Please consider these options before getting rid of your dog. He is already bonding with you and if he is removed and placed into a new environment, it can stress him out and cause even more destructive behaviors due to abandonment issues.

Never 'sell' your dog to the highest bidder!!!!!
Contact local no-kill shelters & rescues to help you properly re-home your puppy.
You should've considered the energy level BEFORE purchasing a Fox Terrier........there are the occasional calm terriers, but for the overall personality, high energy is a well-known trait!

Good luck! It's a very odd day indeed when you find a terrier that isn't hyper! My rat terrier is off the wall and he's about 3 years old!

if any neighbors have fruit trees, ask them for a pruned branch or two. my bunny loves chewing and eating the bark of my neighbors apple tree branch! he also throws it around a bit. paper towel tubes, toilet paper tubes, and paper bags are also good! any untreated wood, like chew blocks from the pet store are awesome! i save the big containers from oatmeal, and duct tape them together in different angles, to form a tunnel for him to go through as well! also large bells, that don't have lead are fun for them too! i bought a dangling treat kabob, that hangs down and has a bell at the bottom. that way he can play with his food! he loves it.

you should've thought about that before you bought the dog. Someone who loved the pet could've gotten it instead. good going.
and i dont' think it's a matter of people being HARSH, it's a matter of people telling you the truth. You shouldn't have bought a dog that is KNOWN to be hyper if you can't handle it.
now you know, RESEARCH YOUR DOG before you buy one.

Contact a rescue in your area and for God's sake, don't get any more dogs - They are a life commitment, not something you get rid of because you're tired of it!
EDIT - I would say it to your face too if I knew you!

If you can stand him until he grows up he'll be soooo loyal, loving and smart. Put him in the laundry room or a carrier if you need a break but terriers are so personable.
