Please do not highlight your hair with lemon juice. It is extremely damaging to your hair. Lemon is a citric acid and it will strip away all of your natural oils and color in your hair leaving you with a dry shell.
Instead, go out and get a kit that's made for highlighting your hair. They cost about $10 and are very easy to use. They are not all that great for the health of your hair either, but they are much safer to use than lemon juice.
You will need to get someone to help you with it as its not a process you can tackle alone.
The best thing you can do is to find a hair salon in your area that does highlighting. It is relatively more expensive, but it will look more natural and an expert can tell you whether or not your hair is in condition to even have it done. Additionally, they can tell you whether or not your hair can even turn lighter. For instance...if you have black hair, then it will be quite a challenge to get some highlights put in.
Hope this helps and good luck :~)

okay, so what you do is, apply the lemon juice directly to clean hair. sit in the sun for a while. about 45 minutes or maybe more. that should do it :] i've never done it before so i'm not sure if you need to do it a second time the next day or even more than that. but good luck! xoxo

I did this a few years back... it worked fine for me. I squeezed a generous amount of lemon juice in my hair and spent the day outside, at the end of the say I showered and I had highlights. Hope this helps and good luck! btw it shound'nt make your hair orange :)

lemon juice really just lightens hair a little. just squeeze it on damp hair and blow it dry with a blow dryer. it will only make hair slightly lighter not give it true highlights like a dye job. the juice will brighten blonde hair and give auburn highlights to brown hair. it sounds like you have no experience so ask a friend to help you do what ever your trying to do! or go to a salon! and NEVER EVER USE CLOROX BLEACH!!!! my friend burned her scalp with it!

get an actual hair dying kit for like $5 or get it professionally done. it would turn out a lot better than taking your chance with a lemon.
