customer service is always everything, you have to know that to be in any business. with out customers there is no business

Because everyone likes to be treated as if they're special. When the customer feels special or unique, they remember the feeling and return in order to feel that way again. If a place has great customer service, people will frequent that establishment more (even if prices are higher than a competitors) because they prefer the treatment they receive.

because without customers, there is no hospitality industry.

I mean the hospitality industry is BASED on having face to face customers come in with their business.

And there's a lot of competition. If you give bad CS, they'll take their money and their custom somewhere else.

You want your customers to come back. Nobody will return to a place where they have been mis-treated.
