What kind of doctors work with Autisitc children?

It would be mainly psychologists, psychiatrists, and neuropscyhologists, possibly a pediatrician if autism spectrum disorders are their speciality. Other specialists, many of which were already mentioned by the other posts, will depend on the specific needs of the child and their level of functioning.

Nutritionists, orthomolecular physicians, chiropractors, allergists and behavioral therapists (in addition to all the other modalities and specialties already listed by others here) also work with autistic children and make HUGE differences in their lives. I have yet to meet an autistic child who doesn't have huge and numerous food allergies and sensitivities as well as sensory issues that sometimes prevent them from having a well-rounded, nutritious diet. My own nephew, 3, will only eat about 7 foods, and is HUGELY gluten intolerant. I have also seen Network Chiropractic and ABA therapy do wonders with autistic children.

Pediatricians who specialize in children with developmental disabilities. But it is a team approach involving psychologists, physical and occupational therapists and others.
