How do you type 4/0 in Excell with out it being changed to the date?

I'm trying to type 4/0 in an Excell spreadsheet and it keeps being changed to Apr-2000 hoe do I stop that?

You could format the cell to "Text".

Right Click
Format Cells
Number
Text

Put an apostrophe ' in front of it. It will change it to text.
