Someone, in a recent question, said that a gay preacher is hypocratic(they mispelled hippocratic *the doctors oath* and meant hypocritic)...

So why? Where does it say that a gay man can't be a preacher? Oh...in the same place where it said a man who lies can be a preacher? In the same place where it says someone who stole can't be a preacher? In the same place where it said a man who judges can't be a preacher?

There is nothing special about gays compared to liars, stealers, and judgers...so why are you judging gays by saying they're so evil...

Did you know Jesus never spoke against gays and said His love comes for ALL....not just straight??

You got it, man.

If I tried to tell you how many "men of the cloth" I have known that were gay, but deep in the closet and lying about it to everybody in their lives -- you wouldn't believe me.

He would be a hypocrite. How can you teach the Word of God and not follow his law? Same as if the preacher were a liar, thief or judgmental. The Bible does say homosexuality is a sin. If he were to leave that life style ask for forgiveness and repent of that sin he would be welcome as a minister. As for homosexuals as being evil I do not think so. I believe the life style is against God's law. i have a gay sister. I love her with all my heart. She is my sister. Do I agree with her lifestyle? No ! Do I worry about her eternal soul? You bet.

edit
what makes me sick is people like the poster above me who likens homosexuality to child abuse
one is consensual with an adult ... the other is NOT

I will say that of a truth a "gay preacher" is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Unless we are talking about one who was once gay, and repented and turned from it, to the obedience to Christ and the word of God, this would clearly be a case of the blind leading the blind. I would certainly not go to that church.

First of all I don't believe in sin hell or damnation, but this gay thing will never go away simply because people see it as wrong supported by their religion, so the fight will continue years after you and I are gone, because it simply will never be resolved.

Every sin is equal in God's eyes. And what every one does is between them and God. If they believe in God and what the bible has to say then they should try their best to leave that life style.

We all sin, including pastors. God holds them to a higher accountabiblity because they are leading a flock, so therefore I believe they should be even more vigilant to keep ALL sin out of their life as much as possible.

Ok, being gay is a sin and just plain sick. True, Jesus died for us all, even gays ,but the Bible is clear about being a pastor, look in 1 Timothy, my dear. Gays can't be the "husband" of one wife as gay unions are not legal in God's eyes and an abomination to him, same as woman, we can't be preachers either.

Wow, you mean preachers are suppose to lie, steal and judge? I didn't know that...

1 Timothy 3:2
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach...

Gee, I guess that is not a preacher.

lol, you will never persuade a Christian to change their thoughts, they don't have the ability to think for themselves and have to get every argument from a book written by (no doubt flawed) men.....
You are so right though, how many preachers, ministers, priests etc abuse children and have it covered up by the church......but obviously gays are a complete no-no. Makes me sick.
