I pretty much just got a car, and dont know too much about them. What kind of windshield wiper blades do I put on my 1994 Camry (coupe)? I only need to replace the rubber right? And about how much are they?

Usually, just replace the blades every second change, if they make just the rubber insert for your car (this can't be done onn many cars these days) - and the whole thing on the between changes, since the bit that holds the rubber wears out and gets loose after a while. Expecty to need new ones every year or two, depending on how dirty you let your windshield get, and whether you park outside or in a garage (the dirt acts as an abrasive and wears the rubber out faster, and UV light makes the rubber perish.)

As for what kind - it doesn't really matter, as long as it attaches correctly. Just remember that you generally get what you pay for, so skip the really cheap brands, and don't waste money on the real expensive ones, either. Trico or Bosch are usually just fine - and make wipers for just about every car on the market.

Good luck!

The blade is the metal springy part with the rubber in it. Do yourself a favor and don't mess around with department store stuff which never fits like OEM parts. If your Camry is 13 years old you need to replace the blades. They couldn't have enough spring left to properly hold the rubber (which, by the way, is called a refill) against the windshield. Go to your Toyota dealer and buy new blades for your car. They should cost less than $20 for both blades, including tax. In a couple of years you can just replace the refills. The blades will last a few years and the new ones will make your wipers work like brand new. It's nice to be able to see where you're going in the rain, right? Good luck.

Go to your local auto parts store and they can advise you what you need. Blade rubber usually cannot be replaced and the whole windshield wiper price runs between $7-15.00.

Take my advise, just change the whole wiper and not just the rubber. The two wipers have a different lengths. Get to an auto dealer shop and inquire

Check your owner's manual for the size you need, sometimes the driver and passenger are 2 different sizes. If you don't have an owner's manual no big deal the store should have a book or computer to look up your car.

You can either replace just the rubber or the whole thing. The price depends on the brand/quality you get. The cheapest are about $2.00, and they work well.

Take a ruler or measuring tape and measure the actual blade. How come nobody thinks of the easiest solution? Or, drive to the parts store, pop your old blades off and carry them in to hold up to the package. Some of them have rulers printed on the back, but you can line the old blade up end to end with the new one of the right size anyway.

When I went to the local parts store for new blades for my Camry, they were something like 16 bucks a side, so I decided to go over to the Toyota dealer parts counter and SURPRISE they were half that much. unbelievable!

Just go to an auto supply store, they will match them up for you, and, advise you on how many, it's usual to replace both.
