Blackmail them.

If you can, the best thing to do would be to wait and see if they eventually confide in you. If you can't wait than you should tell them that you know the truth and ask them why they lied. Usually the reason someone gives for lying is they didn't want to hurt you but lying hurts just as bad.

Well it really depends on the situation. Everyone lies, so unless it's something really big then I wouldn't give them such a hard time. But you could just say something along the lines of "Look, I know you're lying to me, and I would appreciate if you just told me the truth." Don't blackmail them or be mean about it, because you don't want to lower your self down to that level. If you blackmailed them, you wouldn't be any better than they are!

This really depends on what the lie is about. If it's something trivial where they are just lying to make themselves look better, I would just let it go. If it's something big, or the lie is manipulative, I would stop the person mid-sentence and tell them I know they are lying.

Depends on how serious the lie is and how much confrontation you want. I hate being lied to even if its something petty or silly to lie about. "White lies" should mostly be ignored, fact is people lie. If the lie is serious you should definitely confront the person, even if the lie is adamantly denied, you voiced that you know you are being lied to and you wont let this person treat you like a fool.If its a lie about something that doesnt involve you,let it go.

tell them privately that you know that they were lying and make sure that the person knows that nobody likes a liar. if he/she doesn't care use it against him/her. If that person says something mean about you use the lie as your backup.
