Go to Military.com and take the ASVAB practice tests and they give a whole run down of what scores you need for what jobs. You can also get an ASVAB book too. Or maybe find a college that has ROTC and join that way you can get a degree in health field and the ROTC pays for college. And you come out as a 1st LT.
Seriously, talk to a recruiter. And if they don't have the job you want available then refuse to join until an opening comes up, and within about a month they'll have an opening and get it in writing from the recruiter. Because recruiters do lie most of the time to get people to join.

I was in the navy for 4 years, and got out in July of 2004 and I still have nightmares about it. Don't just take what the recruiter is telling you, about 95% of it is BS. They will almost say anything to get you to sign up! The navy is the worst branch for how they treat there personnel. Hope you like to clean, and not get any sleep.
But to answer your question I beleive the lowest score is somewhere between 30-40 which if you scored lower would make you a retarded chimp!
However there are some fields that require a high enough score, and it depends on the field. Ask your recruiter. I was a nuclear MM. and I had to get a 95 to make it and I think I got a 99 or a 98 can't remember!

with a High School diploma, you need a 35 minimum ASVAB score. With a GED, a 50.
if you are worried about the test, right before you are ready to take it, grab an ASVAB study book. yes, you can take the test a second time, but if you score lower, then they take the lower score. they always count the more recent one. the second is after 30 days, any additional times are six months apart.
as a female, however, you chances of getting HM are very slim. there is no need for females, only Males to go Fleet Marine Force( serve in combat units with Marines)

I think you can re-take the test after 6 months...
The best thing you can do... IMO... is buy an ASVAB book and study it very closely. Use index cards... write things down and STUDY.
I've heard that the Navy has the best Medic fields... I, myself, am joining the Army next year as a Health care Specialist (68w).
The best thing you can do girl is get into a program while you're not enlisted yet... and learn the basics of working in the Medical field so you will be ahead of the game. Learn the Ranks in the Navy...!
I wish you the best of health and luck!!! Take care!

The enlisted job for healthcare in the Navy is called a Navy Corpsman or HM ( Short for an old term called Hospitalman) The ASVAB job placement is not based on total score. It is based on scores in certain categories pertaining tothe job you are seeking. To qualifiy for HM, you would have to have the following scores. VE+MK+GS=146
General Science (GS)
Arithmetic Reasoning (AR)
Word Knowledge (WK)
Paragraph Comprehension (PC)
Assembling Objects (AO)
Auto and Shop Information (AS)
Mathematics Knowledge (MK)
Mechanical Comprehension (MC)
Electronics Information (EI)
Sum of Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension (VE).
There are ASVAB study books available and usually a recruiter can help you get one for free. Or you can try one of the big book stores or Amazon.com.

The navy does provide free dental, so that's not an issue. The ASVAB is basic reading, writing, and math skills. You can take it as many times as you want. I'm not sure what you'll need to get into nursing, but anything over a 110 on the GT will pretty much guarantee any job you want.

Don't worry about the ASVAB, it's not that bad. It's pretty much an assesment test for the military to see if you qualify for certain jobs. You can re-take it and if you want you can take the practice test. Most recruiters have copies of old ASVABs so ask them.
