Installing XP is easy. If you want a "clean" install you should format your hard drive. Here are the steps.

First, enter the BIOS and make sure that your cd-rom is set to boot before your hard drive.

Next, put your XP cd into the cd-rom drive and restart your machine. Allow Windows to load it's files. When this is done a window will open asking if you want to install Windows now. Click "yes". On the next screen follow the instructions that tell you how to "remove" the active partition and the do the instructions on "Creating" a new primary partition.

Next, Windows will want to format the drive. Allow this to happen. You can use "Quick" format if you wish. It is much faster.

After Windows has formatted the drive it will start the installation process. From here on all you need to do is follow the yellow brick road.

You will need all of the drives for your mother board and any add-on cards that you might have installed. You will also need to reload any programs that you use.

You just need to boot to your Windows XP installation CD. Setup will start automatically if your drive is already formatted (you could also format the drive once in setup). Just follow the instructions from there.
