why,if all the churches beleive in the same god,do each church put all the other ones down, and say they are wrong,or its a cult, when they follow the same god, share the same basic beleifs, and all try,as they say,to follow, and abide by the bible and its teachings?some are clearly misguided.like the ones that think its o.k. to kill,as long as its in gods name.so them ones you dont have to explain,and.....well,ill post another question

Well, we as mormons, don't (or at least we aren't taught to) put down other people's beliefs. Our prophet, President Hinckley said once - directed toward others of different faiths - Bring all the good you have and we will add the rest. We believe most, if not all, other religions have some good, some truth...just not all of it. We believe the fulness of the gospel was restored and there was an actual need for it... because of the apostasy after Christ's disciples died.
So, we believe other religions have good... think about religion as a tree. The trunk is the gospel, full and uncorrupted. Then someone comes along and "branches" out what they don't like about the gospel or how they interprety a certain doctrine, now a member of that church branches out from something else and so on and so on... that is why there are so many different churches and religions, but I do believe they all stem from one. And I believe the LDS religion is the same taught to Adam and Eve and that it was restored for our day, that it is the "trunk" of the tree.

Well, it's Mormons. And in my church, I've been taught not to bash other religions because Jesus never did that, Jesus respected anyone and everyone and their beliefs. In the LDS church you have many chances in your life to hear the gospel...if you accept it or not that's you're choice.

All religion is a cult.

Many people call the Mormon church and the Catholic church a cult....but it's because they don't understand 2 things...the definition of a cult, and what the other people believe.

You are seeking non-denominational religion. It does exist. Yes there are many examples of religious intolerance wars (its not like anyone hasnt heard of the crusades or even up to presnt day Ireland)

By the way, it stretches farther than you think. If you drop the bible from the question then you could include Jewish and Muslim (same god, different books, provable). And thats not to mention the many religions that speak of a single god even if they worship many seperately named focuses of it.

It has nothing to do with religion. I think it has something to do with people. People do this to other people. It is caused by peoples characters, not their religions. I am a "Mormon" as you all call us and I was brought up to let people believe what they believe and to not be disrespectful to other people. I just moved to Arizona and I have never seen such disrespect toward me and my beliefs as I have here and I have never once done that to anyone. So I think is has to do with the way people were brought up.

You've spouted a lot of your opinions on what these religions do. Now, before I can answer that question, why don't you show me some proof that they do these things? Name your sources.
