If your employment for the previous two years was illegal "under the table" payments, then unemployment wouldn't have been paid in for that time. The two months at UPS wouldn't be long enough for you to collect unmployment, and the other jobs are too far back to count.
But go ahead and apply, the worst that can happen is that they tell you that you aren't eligible. Just don't be surprised if that happens.
If your 2 years of work at the guitar shop had been legal, with taxes paid, then yes you would be eligible to collect unemployment.

Each state is different, so check with your local department of labor for the qualifications. You probably won't qualify though, because you weren't paying any unemployment taxes (or any taxes, really) during your 2 years at the guitar shop. I'm assuming you didn't claim it on your tax return, so that is not going to help you now when you want to collect money from a fund you never contributed to.

You can apply, but it usually depends on the circumstance. If you quit, than probably not and you didn't work there very long. Before that, technically you didn't have a job in the govt eyes anyway. Unemployment is typically awarded to people who worked full time and were fired or laid off from a position.

Unemployment comes from a tax on the employers payroll, not out of your check, so you do not personally pay into unemployment. But if you were working and not paying taxes (shame on you), then most likely the employer was not paying his unemployment taxes either. That is what is called "not being able to eat your cake and have it too". Got it?

Most likely not. If the government "never knew" about your 2 year job then I take it you weren't paying taxes. Plus 2 months on a real W2 job means you haven't contributed hardly anything to social security.

You have to make in PA 2500.00 in a single quarter to qualify. Check you states unemployment web site. Search Yahoo! for (state name) unemployment compensation. Your job that didn't pay into unemployment doesn't count.

Doesn't hurt to apply. The worst they can do is deny you.
