And if they are rude or without respect is it because they were never taught, schooled properly, or their parents gave them no moral compass, or maybe they were taught but since their status in "their" mind is high, they go about acting rudely and poorly?

Cashmere. My Grandma was pulled out of the 2ND grade mind you, but she taught me morals, respect, compassion, please, thank you, and the like. She may have not known what an obtuse triangle was, but she sure knew Psychology and Humanities.

Yes, you can be an "educated idiot" and be lacking etiquette and courtesy.
Or you can be a poor person with wonderful manners and courtesy.

I've met extremely rude people of all economic and educational backgrounds, all races, and all genders. I've been treated shabbily by other attorneys, and I've been dissed by the snotty cashier at Walmart. The common thread is that rude people feel that they are somehow exempt from the rules and guidelines that make it possible for large numbers of people to peacefully co-exist. Many causes for rudeness: for wealthy people, it might be elitism. For not-so-wealthy, it might be resentment or jealously. Those who are really destitute may be rude because they have given up hope (ever have a panhandler berate you because you didn't give him *enough* money? I have.)

Yes, some highly educated people only care about themselves and treat others very rudely. However, usually education teaches you that it is best to treat others as you would like to be treated. I think there is more evidence that poorly educated people don't understand etiquette.

parents and family show the young ones how to behave and be courteous to others.
schools do not do this except marginally .
as you say, some ones get a good education in an expensive school . this makes them feel superior to others , so they act rudely .
parents should be alert to this factor and guide the young ones to be considerate and well behaving to others.

I think that often people who are highly educated get the idea that they are somehow better than people who aren't. They feel that their inteeligence or education, or whatever it may be, entitles them to be downright rude and mean to others.

yes people can be educated and be extremely rude. people who have parents that give them everything have a sense of self entitlement. when they dont work for it themselves and earn it for their own they do not appreciate people as much. therefore lack "social thankfullness", i.e. being polite.
