I absoulutely love pugs and puggles!!! I have to show my mom resposibility, which i have done for the past week and i have to go all the way up to Christmas. I had some behaviorul issues like talking back and being sassy, so now i decided i need to stop and take my parents out of there fuss over me! Part of the reason is that and also we have cats. Fighting cats towards each other. They're on and off. they only usually fight in the summer, there moods change like the seasons ( i hope they stop right after fall ends!). Anyways back to pugs and puggles. I really want one! Whcih one is better? which one is better with people and cats?? Experienced owners are specifally needed. Thanks soooo much!

Pugs are better.

Why?

Because "puggles" are not a breed, but rather a mixed breed, or mutt. Not that there's anything wrong with mutts, but if you are desiring certain traits in a dog mutts are unpredictable. They could be more like one breed or more like the other, or something in betwee.

Also, GOOD breeders NEVER breed mutts. This means that ANYONE breeding "puggles" is not a good breeder, but they are just in it for the money. You don't want to support people like that by buying their dogs.

If you REALLY want a puggle, I recommend rescuing one from the pound or from a rescue group. This way you are not supporting bad breeding practices and you are saving a life.

Now, if you want a Pug, you should be aware that there are good breeders and bad breeders. Good breeders will concentrate on breeding a quality, healthy dog with a good temperament. They do it because they love the breed, not for money. They carefully plan their breedings, and give their dogs the best care.

If you keep reading here, you'll see the difference between the two types of breeders.

I would stick with the breed that is actually a " real " breed which is the pug . Puggles are nothing but a cross deisgner mutt breed and petstores and brokers will make you pay a **** full of money on something that isnt recognized by any kennel clubs out there . Puggles are unhealthy because they were cross bred and when you cross breed something you could either get a ton full of problems or no problems your pretty much risking it or taking a chance . Pugs a registerable meaning they could be registered . Why pay $1000 on a mutt ??

Pugs have a lot of genetic and health problems especially with their breathing. They can't handle heat very well and they put on weight really easily, however they do have lovely personalities. They are quiet and extrememly friendly little dogs.
Puggles are good if you have a lot of energy or if you want a dog to take out walking every single day and play rough with. They have very happy personalities! The good things about puggles is that when you mix the 2 breeds you eliminate a lot of the genetic and health problems that each of the breeds would have on their own, typically you'll get a dog that needs to visit the vet too often.

As price goes they both can be expensive depending on where you get them from. If you go to a Pet Store the pug will be a little more expensive.

Pug. 'Puggles' are an unhealthy mix thought up by a con artist. They have breathing and bone structure problems.

You can adopt a great Pug here:

http://www.petfinder.com/index.html

You might also find a Puggle on that site but they won't call it one. Search Pugs, then Beagles.

PLEASE do not pay a 'breeder' or a pet store for this mixed breed dog. It is made only by puppy millers and crooks who are out to rob you and it's not worth ONE DIME - unless that is a rescue fee.

Save a life. Adopt. Thank you.

EDIT: Pugs love cats. (see Milo and Otis) Beagles might chase or harass them if not properly socialized.

I would go with a Pug from a reputable breeder. If you want a Puggle, you can probably find them at the shelter/humane society.

As far as which is better with people/cats..its all in how they are raised.

Are your cats spayed/neutered? If not, that could be the reason they are fighting....

If you stick with the dog that is a real breed, the Pug, it is much more predictable what you can expect. I had a Pug and she was a funny dog. We enjoyed her and she gave us 17 years of companionship! Definitely go with the Pug. Are you aware that most Pugs shed a lot? You should know that when making your choice of a breed of dog. Any Puggles will probably shed lots too as both breeds it is made up of, shed.

I'd go with a Pug. I think they have much more pleasant dispositions and will be a lot easier to find a reputable pug breeder than a reputable puggle breeder. Don't get a pug from a pet store- that never produces a good outcome.

Gets your cats spayed and neutered.
Get the pug, there is no such thing as a puggle
And quit being so sassy, it's not going to get you anywhere, won't help you as an adult, and will get you into more trouble than it's worth

Puggles are just crossbred designer mutts that someone will charge you way too much for, so I would say Pug.
