Close? lets see Muslins oppressed, massacred, forcefully converted and expelled Jews numerous times before the State of Israel existed (and when Israel was established- over 800,000 Jews were expelled from Muslim countries when the State was declared- after having all their possessions confiscated and stolen from them.)

Palestine was a lawless part of the continent.
The jews started to make the soil fertile, create electricity lines, etc. And decided to organize the country, and turn it civilized.

The muslims had always hated the jews and did not like the creation of a jewish state even though all religions were admitted, and so the muslims started to bomb, backstab, etc.

And from then on, the jews were forced to partially opress the muslims in order to avoid them from turning the palestine region into a savage wasteland again.
