Not a bizzare question, kiddo... But I will answer truthfully cause I think that's what you need.
I'm sure you are a nice person - you're probably a hottie but make no mistake - DO NOT CHASE SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE CHASED. What I mean is if he doesn't express interest in getting to know you, don't embarrass yourself by pursuing it. You never know, he might even turn nasty and start making issues for you by saying some not so nice things. Move on, Girl...
When you meet someone you like, as a friend or more, doesn't really matter which one... You listen to two things:
Your Heart and Your Head...
If they are both saying the same thing, then you know it's all good. But, if your heart is saying that he's cute, do what you can to make him like you,,, etc... but your head is saying - he's ignoring me, doesn't speak to me.... Listen to your head!!
Please take my word for it. People are attracted to people who have self-confidence, a sparkling personality, a sense of humour, etc.. (Some special quality within you.) Once people are seeing that in you, they will come to you... You don't need to seek these people out...
I don't if this helps but I had to learn the hard way about this kind of stuff. All I know is that if I have the chase something and there is no chasing back, what's the point? It's embarrassing and doesn't do much for your ego either...
So I would leave it alone, chickie, and MOVE ON...

Tell your parent, have the family visit together, and make your presence known.
That'll fix his apple cart.

Cousin in law?
Whatever.
You can't force someone to talk to you if they don't want to.

You can't force people to do what they don't want to. If he doesn't want to associate with you then you will have to accept it, & move on.
Anyway, it's HIS loss.
