Christians...How do you know the Rapture didn't already happen hundreds of years ago, and the we're all actually currently living in the Devil's earthy reign right now?

I post this question not to antagonize, but to start a real discussion....I mean, who really knows if it didnt already happen right?

I hold to a pre-tribulation view. That the rapture will happen before the events in Revelaiton. I'll answer your question from a pre-trib standpoint.

Because there are specific events that are supposed to happen at the end of the age, after the rapture. Those things are listed in Revelation. The events are being set up every day, but they are not "mature" or fully happening yet. There will come a time that the world will be devastated by multiple judgments from God, which include things like natural disasters, meteor strikes, and many other things.

After those things happen (over the course of 7 lunar years time) Jesus will return to earth and reign on earth (Revelation 19).

So if the rapture had happened a few hundred years ago, the world would have gone through much much more than it has now, and Jesus would be reigning on earth right now. I don't see Jesus, so it hasn't happened yet. :)

Because, after the rapture happens, then the beast takes over for 7 years, so that must mean something, cause if it has already happen then why aren't we in heaven or hell, what happen to the twinkling of an eye! why are we not being judge by GOD, why are we still here on earth, SORRY, but there is so much of the bible still missing if you think that the RARTURE has already happened.

If it has happened then I would not be here. I would be in the presence of the Lord. See Isaiah 57:1,2. God said He was taking His loved ones from the evil to come. This is not the worst of it yet!
Read Matthew 24 & Zechariah 14.
Israel as a nation have not excepted Jesus as Messiah yet!
They are still looking for Him to come for the first time. The Christian Jews believe in atonement for sins but how are they atoning, ( not as in days of by-gone; sacraficing animals) if they don't believe in the Messiah. God said He would gather a small remnant together to use for His Glory! These things must come to pass before we are raptured. Read also, Isaiah 13:4-14. Read Revealations 19 also.

"Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for (that day will not come) until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God." II Thessalonians 2:1-4

Matthew 25:13
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Mark 13:32
32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Because God's church (his followers) is still here. When Christ returns for his Church, they will then be raptured, but it will not be a "silent" rapture. Everyone in the world will be able to see it.
